STEELFEEDS TRADING COMPANY (PVT) LTD

COMPANY : A limited liability company with a work force of approx 700 employees.

PRODUCTS : This Company was Manufacturing Galvanising Roofing Sheets under the brand of ‘SEVILI’ & Builders Hardware under the brand of ‘IRONORI’. Later moved on to a range of General Hardware, Bolts & Nuts and finally the Colour roofing sheets.

The Distribution was Island wide through four marketing segments, namely the Dealer Network, Bazaar wholesale, Institution & Plantation sectors.

EXPERIENCE : With my previous experiences I had the opportunity of applying all previous knowledge into practical. Starting from the company formation I was involved in every part of the company throughout although I was appointed General Manager in 1994.

During my tenure I successfully achieved the company to a higher standard and was second in command throughout. This exposure includes all areas in an organization, Manufacturing & Trading Stockist & Distributors, Imports & Facility Management, Sales & Marketing, Accounting, Tax, Audit & Financial Management, Administration & Personal work & all other operational work.

With company diversifying and venturing into new segments, I was responsible in formulating strategies to achieve the Billion mark of the Company, and was successful in achieving as per budget.


REMARKABLE ACHIEVEMENTS

Active player in the growth of Steelfeeds from the lowest to the top
associating with people at all levels for a long 15 years.

Successful in obtaining facility from Banks and Financial institutions. This includes Bank of Ceylon, Commercial Bank Of Ceylon, Hatton National Bank, Seylan Bank, Pan Asia Bank, Public Bank Berhard Plc, Mashriq Bank, Muslim Commercial Bank, Lanka Orix Leasing Company, Seylan Merchant Bank, etc.,

Successful in business decision makings, with suppliers locally and overseas India, Malaysia, China & Japan the most.

Travelled India, Pakistan, Singapore, Malaysia, China & Japan.

Taking over the company ‘PURE METALS’ and successfully turned towards a profitable and viable company within 6 months. This was a Builders Hardware manufacturing company with work force of approx 200 employees at all levels.

Taking over the company ‘THE TRADESMANN INTERNATIONAL’ and successfully turned towards a profitable and viable company within 4 months. This was the marketing arm of Steel feeds under a different management, servicing exclusively the outstation Dealer Network with Products of Steelfeeds and reputed other company products.
Complete reorganizing of the company from its collapsed position at the time of taking over and strengthening its position to service all marketing segments of Steel feeds in increasing the market share.

Finally the overall sales supervision included a human strength of approx 300 including a heavy sales team of 4 Sales Managers, 3 Assistant Sales Managers, 8 Area Sales Executives and 60 Sales personal.

Introducing and successfully implementing a ‘TRADER CONCEPT’ for identification of products, Launching, and Marketing.

Experience involves an awareness of the following Sales segments.

4000 Hardware wholesale & retail outlets
250 Wholesalers in the sales hub of Sri Lanka
350 Plantation companies & Institutional customers (Architecture & Building Contractor firms etc.)
